A classic juicy beef burger topped with cheese, tomato, arugula and the star of the show bacon jam, a sweet and savory relish-type condiment.

INGREDIENTS

  • Ground Beef: This recipe calls for 90/10 ground beef to make these burger more lean without so much fat.
  • Bacon jam: made with turkey bacon, It’s sweet and salty and adds the perfect flavor to these burger. Find my recipe here.
  • No-sugar added BBQ Sauce: I used a zero sugar BBQ sauce for less calories as well a healthier version of traditional BBQ sauce that tends to have a lot of added sugar. Two great brands I’ve used are Primal Kitchen’s and G Hughes Smokehouse.
  • Reduced-Fat Cheddar Cheese: using reduced fat cheese lowers the amount of saturated fat.
  • Tomato: adds a great fresh bite to the burger.
  • Arugula: I like using arugula or spinach for more nutrients than iceberg lettuce.
