Everyone’s favorite childhood breakfast pastry can now be easily made from home! Made with homemade chia seed jam and paired store bought crust to save time. These pop tarts are filled with a delicious strawberry jam and topped with a lemon-y strawberry icing.
This recipe is super easy and very versatile. You can fill it with any flavor jam and whip them up without any fancy baking tools. I’m using a store bought dough but by all means you can make your own pie crust recipe for this too!
MODIFICATIONS:
- The dough: the recipe calls for pie crust in order to make these like pop tarts but swap it out for puff pastry and you get that flakey crust just like a toaster strudel. (picture below)
- The filling: Swap out the strawberry chia jam for blueberry or any other berry jam, the possibilities are truly endless!
STORING LEFTOVERS
Although best the day of, you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven at 375 degrees for 5-7 minutes until warm.
